Las Vegas Sphere owners are having some serious talks about opening a brand-new sphere in Abu Dhabi. Since the launch of the spectacular venue, it never fails to impress the world with the creativity. After the Las Vegas GP, Sphere got some huge attention from the whole world.

Publications in the US and in South Korea are running different stories but there is consensus on one point. The next Sphere will not be built in London. James Dolan, the CEO of the venue’s holding company, is now in “serious talks” to open a second location in Abu Dhabi.

Dolan is said to be negotiating a deal to license the Sphere in the Arab emirate which is now the leading contender for the next Sphere Venue.

In Abu Dhabi, the vibrant capital of the United Arab Emirates, stands the impressive Etihad Arena. This state-of-the-art venue, inaugurated in 2021, boasts a capacious seating arrangement accommodating up to 18,000 attendees.

Abu Dhabi proudly showcases the Etihad Arena as a central pillar of its modern entertainment landscapes. its neighboring emirate, Dubai, is renowned for its iconic architectural wonders. Among them, the Burj Khalifa reigns supreme as the tallest building globally, piercing the skyline with its awe-inspiring height. Why not a brand new sphere for Abu Dhabi?

The Sphere Entertainment Co is in dispute about $225m in additional construction costs. This is after the Sphere in Las Vegas went more than $1.1bn over budget. With the cost coming in at $2.3bn so far, as construction took place during and after the Covid pandemic.

“We are in substantive discussions with multiple international markets,” about building more Spheres, the company said in a recent public statement without naming markets.
