With only a few days left until the Super Bowl this year, unexpected changes are underway. Tiesto was replaced by Kakade as the DJ for the Super Bowl 2024. Tiësto, who was slated to be the first-ever in-game Super Bowl DJ, has had to cancel his performance due to a family emergency.

As Tiësto expressed on social media, “Me and my team have been preparing something truly special for months, but a personal family emergency is forcing me to return home Sunday morning.” Despite the disappointment of missing the event, Tiësto emphasized that family always takes precedence. He also expressed gratitude to the NFL for the collaboration and expressed eagerness to work together in the future.

Following Tiësto’s withdrawal, it was announced that music producer and DJ Kaskade would step in to replace him. Kaskade, in a statement shared on social media, expressed his excitement about the opportunity, particularly as someone who grew up watching the NFL Super Bowl with his family in Chicago. He described the chance to be part of the event as “absolutely mind-blowing” and emphasized the significance of Las Vegas, his second home, in shaping his career.

Being the first electronic musician to be part of the full Super Bowl game experience in Las Vegas held special significance for Kaskade, who expressed eagerness to represent his community in this historic moment.

Kaskade will be one of several to perform at the Super Bowl, including Reba McEntire, Post Malone, Andra Day, and Usher, the latter of whom will take center stage for the halftime show.

Super Bowl LVIII, featuring the San Francisco 49ers vs. the Kansas City Chiefs, will air on CBS and stream on Paramount+. Kickoff is slated for 6:30 p.m. ET/3:30 p.m. PT.

And we hope everything is be fine with Tiesto at the moment.
